HOLLY’S MARATHON RAISES £6,500

Local Ashtead Rotarian Tim Ashton and his wife Sarah were thrilled to see their 40 year old daughter Holly Evans finish The London Marathon  in 4hours 5o minutes in extremely hot conditions.

Holly was running to raise money for Alzheimer’s Research and raised a total of £6,500.00 putting her in the top ten of the 400 runners running for this wonderful Charity.

Holly no stranger to Ashtead Rotary Club always seen helping at Rotary Village Day and other events was sponsored by Ashtead Rotary Club together with many Ashtead Rotarians making individual donations.  As you will see from the photo she wore throughout The Run a Blue Rotary Hat together with a yellow sash with Ashtead Rotary Club on.

She was cheered on by her  family including husband Scott and her children Max and Evie, her sister Kate, husband Mark and daughter Layla at various points throughout The Run.

On reaching The Finish in The Pall an emotional Holly said’ it was the hardest thing she had ever done! At 17 miles she felt done due to the heat but persevered and dug deep as she was determined not to let her generous sponsors down.’

A truly wonderful achievement

Well done Holly - you did it!
