Ashtead Rotary Club joined three other local clubs from Leatherhead, Dorking, Bookham & Horsley, this week to hear about the fight against cybercrime and the Police’s efforts to protect us from financial and emotional loss.
Speaking at the Police Federation in Leatherhead, Cyber Protect Officer Daniel Sykes, of the South East Cyber Crime Unit of the Surrey & Sussex Police, captivated the audience with a comprehensive discussion on the alarming trends in cybercrime.
As a leading player in the fight against cybercrime, he brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table. His presentation highlighted the relentless pursuit by cybercriminals to defraud individuals and organizations, resulting in staggering financial losses amounting to billions of pounds.
He emphasized that no one is immune to these sophisticated attacks, which have evolved to exploit vulnerabilities across various platforms and technologies.
